Como Zoo Japanese Garden Expansion

Long-anticipated expansion of the Como Zoo Japanese Garden exhibit has begun, and On Site Sanitation is honored to be there to support the construction crews. Como Friends have announced that all funds have been secured to enhance the entrance to the exhibit as well as expand the bonsai portion of The Japanese Gardens Experience. This is a $2.8 million construction project, contracted by CPMI, Inc. who is also working on the new gorilla forest project at the Como Zoo.
Park officials plan to begin work on a $2.8 million project that will create a serene terrace showcasing bonsai trees along a gently sloping passageway into the garden from the conservatory. The project is expected to be completed in the fall of 2012 or early 2013.

On Site Sanitation is wildly excited to be providing clean and comfortable care to the construction crew at the Gorilla Forest Exhibit at the Como Park Zoo and Conservatory. There’s no monkeying around at this renovation. The gorillas have been watching the project unfold and all reports agree – the apes are happy and interested in the progress.

The Mother Baby Center
Abbott Northwestern and Children’s Hospital
Minneapolis, Minnesota
Construction continues at The Mother Baby Center. This new project is a collaboration between Abbott Northwestern Hospital and Children’s Hospital and is contracted to Knutson Construction Company. Ground-breaking ceremonies were held last October and the project is scheduled for completion later this year.
This state-of-the-art facility will allow mothers of critically ill newborns to remain with their babies during those very important early days of life. The Mother Baby Center at Abbott Northwestern and Children’s - Minneapolis will merge Abbott Northwestern’s labor, delivery and newborn nurseries with Children’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Special Care Nursery and Infant Care Center.

FBI Field Office
Brooklyn Center, Minnesota
On February 21, 2012 the new FBI Field Office in Brooklyn Center will be officially open and fully functional with staff moving in from the older downtown location and from around the metro region. The $61 million building project was begun in 2010 and brings hope and prosperity to the community as well as increased security to the nation.
On Site Sanitation was proud to be appointed by construction contractor, Kraus Anderson, to provide clean and comfortable care to the appoximately 700 construction workers on the construction site since ground-breaking in August 2010.
American Swedish Institute
Minneapolis, Minnesota
Great progress continues at the American Swedish Institute, 2600 Park Avenue in Minneapolis. Construction crews from Adolfson & Peterson have been working on the Nelson Cultural Center as well as renovating areas of the Turnblad Mansion. The addition of the 34,000 square foot Nelson Cultural Center began late May 2011 and is scheduled for completion in June of this year.
On Site Sanitation was chosen to provide the “necessary” services for the construction site.
UnitedHealth Group – Data Center Campus
Chaska, Minnesota
Construction continues on the UnitedHealth Group data center campus in Chaska. Mortenson Construction, contractor for the $100 million project, plans to complete the campus mid-2012. Groundbreaking on the new 190,000 square foot facility began in 2010.
The new UnitedHealth data center is located at the West Creek Corporate Park, an area the town of Chaska initially targeted for development by biotechnology companies, and backed by a grant from the state of Minnesota.

Auburn Meadows Assisted Living Expansion
Waconia, Minnesota
Construction continues on the new Auburn Homes facility in Waconia. Contractor Shingobee Builders, local dignitaries and residents were present for the ground-breaking celebration in November 2011, and the project is scheduled for completion for October this year.
Auburn Meadows, a 62-unit, three-story facility will offer assisted living and enhanced assisted living as well as apartments for memory care residents. It is being built next to Auburn Home in Waconia, just west of Ridgeview Medical Center.
On Site Sanitation is glad to be a part of this important project in Waconia, providing clean and comfortable care to the workers throughout the duration of construction.

Biomedical Discovery District University of Minnesota
Minneapolis, Minnesota
On May 11, 2011, the University of Minnesota and Mortenson Construction broke ground on a state-of-the-art cancer and cardiovascular research building – the final landmark within the Biomedical Discovery District.
The building will act as the gateway to the U of M’s Biomedical Discovery District. When complete in spring 2013, the cancer/cardio research building will bring top U of M researchers together across disciplines to discover the next wave of cancer and cardiovascular treatments and therapies.
